Ireland-based soprano Abbi Temple enjoys a varied freelance career combining Choral, Consort and solo Oratorio singing with occasional Opera and Recital work. She is a member of Chamber Choir Ireland with a busy schedule of concerts, tours and recordings, under the musical direction of Paul Hillier.
Abbi is also member of the UK-based 5-voice ensemble Papagena, a group which explores the wealth of music written specifically for women's voices, from 11th century to present day.
She has sung with various UK and European Ensembles, such as Coro Casa da Musica Porto, The Gabrieli Consort, Ars Nova Copenhagen, Theatre of Voices and The English Concert.
Abbi is an experienced Oratorio soloist and loves performing with Choral Societies around the UK and in Ireland.
Equally at home on stage or on the concert platform, Abbi's opera roles have included Atalanta (Handel Xerxes) for Longborough Festival Opera and Vixen (Janacek The Cunning Little Vixen) Other favourite roles have included Susanna (Le Nozze di Figaro), Despina (Così fan Tutte), Zerlina (Don Giovanni) & Musetta (La Bohème), Lauretta (Gianni Schicchi), as well as Polly Peachum (The Beggar's Opera), Giannetta (L'Elisir d'Amore), Belinda & 2nd Woman (Dido & Aeneas) and Euridice (Monteverdi L'Orfeo)
